No means no! Aamir Khan Aamir Khan has quit smoking. The actor recently revealed on his blog that he had stopped lighting up. On Sunday June 24, in reply to a query from one of his fans called Shabbir, the actor has replied with, “I have quit smoking.” A source close to the actor confirms, “Aamir stopped smoking around six months ago. He was never a chain smoker, but would light up occasionally. Especially when he was busy with any sort of creative work. His decision to give up on smoking was his own. I don’t think anyone asked him to kick the habit.” But seriously...Aamir even imposed a smoking ban on the sets of his latest production — Taare Zameen Pe. Khan had a strict No Smoking rule on the sets. An actor who worked on the film reveals, “Aamir was quite serious when he requested actors and other technicians not to smoke on the sets. He had no issues with anyone smoking when off the set or location. But he didn’t want people walking around the sets, smoking.” For the kidsAnother reason for Aamir’s ruling was the presence of children on the sets. “Aamir treated the kids on the set with lot of love. He pampered them with treats and made sure they were quite comfortable. And he didn’t want them to be exposed to bad habits. He used to even pull up crew members who broke the no smoking rule, or used abusive language when in the presence of the children.”
