Who's bigger? Rajni or Mommotty/Mohanlal? in sify.com

Rajnikanth and his Sivaji are releasing in a record 72 screens spread across Kerala, with many cities having multiple screens. Mammootty or Mohanlal, the Emperors of Malayalam cinema never had such a wide release. The highest so far has been Mohanlal's last release Chotta Mumbai with 60 screens.
In the capital Thiruvananthapuram, a Rajni stronghold and Mohanlal's home town, Sivaji becomes the first film to release in three screens-`New`, `Sreekumar` and `Kairali` with a combined seating capacity of approximately 3200 seats per show. At Ernakulam, the highest collecting centre in the state it is releasing in two huge screens- `Shenoys` and `Padma` with a seating capacity of 2300 per show.

In Malabar area, the citadel of Mammootty for the first time a film is releasing in 28 screens including three in Kozhikode- `Apsara`, `Ganga` and `Radha`. And in Palakkad, the gateway to Kerala it is opening at `Aroma` and `New Aroma`. The first show in the state will be at Palakkad, with caparisoned elephants carrying the print to the theatre and show starting at 3.30 am, in the wee hours of Friday (June 15)!
Meanwhile ticket rates have been increased in all theatres screening Sivaji in Kerala, with Ernakulam ticket rates being the highest – Rs 75 and Rs 60. Says Johnny Sagarika, the distributor of the film: " My total cost on Sivaji rights for Kerala will work out to around Rs 3.20 crore including print and publicity, but I'm confident that I will recover my cost and make a profit."
